Children’s vision is extremely important since vision is one of the leading ways in which we learn. Early detection is key since many vision problems are easier to correct the earlier they are found. Comprehensive eye exams evaluate more than just visual acuity, but also evaluate eye focusing, eye teaming and tracking skills. A problem in these areas can make learning more difficult for the child and school performance can suffer.

The American Optometric Association guidelines recommend that all children have a complete vision and eye health examination at the age of 6 months, 3 years, upon entering kindergarten, and routine vision care thereafter throughout their school years.
